IL MOSAICO ANTICO SCOPERTO DUE VOLTE

An ancient mosaic of Roman Age was discovered for the first time in 1897, and then buried again to protect it. There was only a watercolor to remember it.
In 2010, during the works for a new road intersection it was descovered for the second time, and now, excavated and placed in the Museum of Modena.
We have virtually reconstructed the mosaic on the old watercolor, and the correspondance was perfect. The whole story is shown in a special exhibition at the Archaeological Museum
of the city of Modena.
